2008 Presidential Election Poll- Summary
Nassau Research conducted a poll between October 20, 2008 and October 27, 2008 using online surveys randomly sent via email to 1200 Princeton undergraduates over the age of 18. 445 students responded to the surveys, which also had a gift certificate incentive prize to encourage participation, yielding a 37.1% response rate. Of these 445 respondents, 377 were likely voters. The respondents identified themselves as 53% female and 47% male with 21.1% of them being seniors, 24.7% being juniors, 26.5% being sophomores, and 27.7% being freshmen. The self-identified racial composition of respondents was 60.9% white, 11.0% black, 8.5% Hispanic, 21.8% Asian, 1.1% Native American, and 4.3% other. Note that the percentages for racial composition sum to greater than 100 percent since respondents could identify with multiple races when responding to the survey. The results of the survey will be posted soon. All margins of error will be reported at a 95 percent confidence level.
